If you can’t think of a better way to experience the Great American Solar Eclipse than by getting lost in the woods in your birthday suit while being serenaded by sexy beats, then this is the getaway for you. In its third year, the Honcho Summer Campout is lasting until Monday’s epic eclipse, and it’s again bringing its clothing-optional outdoor festivities with a weekend full of DJ sets, cuties galore and the occasional fireworks. 🎆
This gathering, equal parts adults-only summer camp and queer music festival, is organized by Honcho, a nightlife collective operating out of Pittsburgh. Its 2017 summer camp is a three-hour drive away, however, on a farm in the middle of nowhere central Pennsylvania.
“Since its inception, Honcho has been a queer party showcasing queer artists. When we started Campout, we had no idea what it would blossom into, nor how quickly it would get there,” reads the event’s Facebook page.
The campout is also about a two-hour drive from either Baltimore and D.C. This makes for a far more secluded retreat where you can really get in touch with nature (or at least in touch with a a short-term boyfriend for the weekend).
To provide the perfect soundtrack for this extra-trippy weekend, Honcho has recruited a top-notch list of DJ talent, including San Francisco’s Marke B, Honey Soundsystem’s Jackie House and The Carry Nation. 🔊 Get a taste of the music and the fireworks by watching the video below featuring Jason Kendig doing his thang.
The first two years, Honcho held its summer campout at a male-only resort, but this year organizers decided to move it to a more inclusive space.
“While the first two years were hosted by a wonderful venue, the male-only policy does not fit the queer-positive identity of Honcho,” the organizers wrote on Facebook.
