Our dear friend Baruch Porras-Hernandez is busy AF. In addition to his solo show, “Love in the Time of Piñatas,” our go-to culture guide is booked solid this month, either performing or hosting various quality events around the San Francisco Bay Area.

So, when June came about and we wanted to get a culture guide to what’s happening during Gay Pride, we knew we could simply just ask Baruch to share his event calendar, jam-packed with performances, art shows, literary speakeasies, poetry readings, and his solo show, of course. The result? Culture Guide to SF Pride.

“Love in the Time of Piñatas” is having its first preview night on Tuesday, June 20 at Brava Theater. Directed by Evren Odcikin, the one-night-only preview performance is part of the National Queer Arts Festival, and it’s being supported by a grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission. You can get your ticket to it here.

“It will hopefully be a culmination of all my solo shows, but with donuts,” Baruch said. “I’m super grateful to be able to work on my art like this with so much support from queer artists and organizations that I’ve been working with for years, and that I truly appreciate.”
