July 29, 2013 – the first time I was put in touch with HBO’s VP of PR to talk about Looking. Since then, I’ve sent and received over 100 emails, each time learning a little more about the visionary new show depicting the lives of scruffy Latinos in San Francisco.

Finally, with the show’s premiere just one week away, I can finally share a little more about all I’ve learned after going on set, interviewing the cast and watching a screener with the first four episodes of the series. Every day this week, I will post exclusive interviews, never-before-seen photos or interesting new information about the show (filming locations, soundtrack).

Just think of Just Looking as your ultimate source for all Looking-related exclusives, scoops and inside stories.

So here we go: the first installment is a photo of the cast in all their sun-soaking glory, filming a scene at Dolores Park for episode six. But why is Jonathan Groff Looking grumpy? Check out the annotations below and see what this photo reveals about the show.

    • In my experience most men have foreskin, just children of insane Americans and Jews and Muslims don’t.

  7. What’s to be grumpy about, Jonathan? Three prospects is far better than one, sir.

I’m looking forward to your coverage of the show, Mr. Raymundo. It’s been on my radar for a while. It’ll be nice to get your perspective on it instead of reading the run-of-the-mill coverage on Huffington Post or Queerty.

  9. Having lived in San Francisco for over 7 years in the late 70’s and ’til the middle 80’s, Looking has been groundbreaking yet also like a fond trip down memory lane as well. I applaud it for its multifaceted exploration and celebration of modern American homosexual culture and mores.
