L.A.-based artist haunts the West Coast with silly afterlife tableaus
Darren Pearson can see ghosts. The Los Angeles-based light painter known as Darius Twin has been seeing them all over California, in big cities like his hometown and San Francisco but also in remote areas such as Yosemite and Big Sur.
Pearson’s canvas is California’s stunning urban and rural landscapes. And instead of paintbrushes, he paints with small LED flashlights. Capturing the ephemeral light creations takes a camera with long exposure and remote shutter release.
Using this method, Darius Twin has created delightful scenes with quirky skeletons, angels and other creatures of the afterlife.
