  1. I definitely think that marriage equality today was a triumph for gay and lesbian men and women. However, I don’t think it’s appropriate to say that “we’ve won the war”. Marriage equality IS NOT equality. We still have huge strides to make for bisexual, transgender, and other queer people along with those who experience discrimination based on race, class, sex, religion, etc. Once again, I want to emphasize that today was truly a historic day for gay and lesbian men and women, but at the same time, marriage equality does NOT give us equality. We are BORN equal and it’s about time the government recognized it.
